For several years now I have been using a little $ store penguin named Pete to show the values I believe in at Christmas time. He is like the Elf on the Shelf, but never naughty, always teaching scripture and lots of fun for me and my little one.

This year "Pete" is focusing on: Who is Jesus? The names and attributes of Jesus.

The first day back he always brings a simple nativity (since Jesus is the star of the Christmas season).

Day 1: Jesus is the Son of God

Is it Raining or Pouring?

Today I was thinking well when it rains it pours. Life is just not shaking out. Then I thought a check engine light going on does not normally send me to tears. Maybe it may send you into tears but I do not care much about cars so normally I would have turned up the radio and ignored the weird sounds coming from the car with the light on.

My logic does not usually take over but after the tears came I thought why am I crying.

About 2 1/2 weeks ago we found out our 5 weeks pregnancy was over. Our little one is 7 yrs old and we were very excited. Now in the weeks since our trip to Sri Lanka budget has almost doubled, our oven/stove top stopped working, I am now medicine that makes me very sick, our pumpkin plants died, my iPod erased all my songs, dear friend announced their 2 baby, and many other little things.

My attitude was God is bigger than this the whole time till....every drop adds up when it raining!

Trusting in the Lord's plan while it is pouring!

New Thoughts on Matter

My 6 yr old made up a parable I thought I would share with you. She is learning about water in all its

Water comes down in the liquid form from heaven.  When it gets to earth sometimes it hits cold spots and turns to ice (the solid form), some rain hits warm spots where people enjoy it. Then it evaporates and steam rises up to spend time with God.

So simple but it made me smile J
